It all begins with an idea
Nephrology Specialist IPA aims to prevent the progression of renal disease through the use of quality care metrics that allow clinicians to predict and intervene before an individual is faced with a health crisis.
NSIPA is a high-performing clinically-integrated specialty network poised to standardize the renal patient experience across independent nephrology practices. Through the use of medicine, medical nutrition therapy, technology, and evidence-based data analytics, clinical patterns are detected and resultant data shared with clinicians, payers, and consumers.
NSIPA analytics utilize mathematical formulas and algorithms to derive “performance scores”; the weighting of which is based on preselected performance standards. Subsequent withholding and reimbursement is based on quality performance scores.

Why was NSIPA started?
NSIPA was conceived and formed in response to the growing need for increased preventative care strategies for those at risk for, or in the early stages of kidney disease. NSIPA’s goal is to delay the progression of kidney disease using prophylactic measures, individualized nutritional counseling, early detection, and prompt treatment interventions.
NSIPA’s innovative approach will allow clinicians to predict and intervene before an individual is faced with a health crisis, allowing for the provision of medical and social support while mitigating acute exacerbation of chronic disease. NSIPA’s quality care measures are designed to reduce the overall cost of CKD care and treatment, eliminate or shorten hospitalizations, and increase home dialysis utilization.
What Makes NSIPA Different
NSIPA offers a revolutionary approach that is poised to transform healthcare by addressing the root causes of chronic renal disease. In contrast with existing modalities that provide treatment for late-stage renal disease, NSIPA leverages quality assessment data and technology to slow disease progression, promote nutritional health and wellness, enhance global care quality, foster idea sharing, and scale innovations at local and global levels.
Through clinical practice integration and the reporting of data and outcomes, NSIPA evaluates care quality to determine whether appropriate preventative and early treatment measures have been implemented. By shifting from episodic, event-based, crisis-driven healthcare to continuous support models across the patient care life span, NSIPA is changing the pattern of health delivery from reactionary to preventative.

NSIPA currently has over 75 renal care professionals across Southern California and Arizona providing specialty care.
